All of a sudden, Cassie Renee Photography LLC is about to enter year 3 of existence in Alaska! The first two years of (primarily) dog photography have absolutely flown by and I am brimming with ideas to make year three the best yet.
There are some standout memories from 2024:
VCA Bearing Sea Animal Hospital, in Anchorage, commissioned me to create portraits of their staff and pets for wall art in their building. This project involved a lot of smiles and laughs from a great group of people who genuinely care about animals. I was honored to be their photographer.
I proudly became an official sponsor for not one, but two sled dog entities. LnL Working K9s LLC in Palmer has a speedy group of hounds they plan to enter in sled dog races this winter season and I will be there to cheer them on and capture images to celebrate their runs. Susitna Sled Dog Adventures, near Talkeetna, is a public favorite sled dog tour company and it is always such a fun experience to visit their dog yard and enjoy their tours. Give them a follow on social media and you'll recognize some of my images.
On a related topic, Mushing Magazine has published several of my images this past year; one image of Susitna Sled Dog Adventures serving as the front cover. Humans Outside has an article with my image as the cover photo as well.
One of my images won a second place ribbon in the Professional Photography category at the Alaska State Fair. I've been bitten by the competition bug now!
Formals & Fur has been my favorite portrait event of the year: monthly portrait sessions at different scenic locations around Southcentral Alaska, where participants dress in formals and have their portrait taken with their dog. More about that in it's own blog post, but for now, I will say I am pleased to continue to offer these events for 2025.
In 2025, I plan to travel between Fairbanks and Soldotna for clients. Message me if you would like to get on my road trip schedule! There are a few Mini session ideas I have floating around in my brain that I know clients will enjoy and one or two crazy photography plans that repeat clients have brainstormed with me. Stay tuned!
At the end of the day, however, I will continue to provide dog (and horse) owners in Alaska with beautifully created portraits that are time capsules to memories of their loved ones. Photographs that show off the achievements of your dog (or horse), the connection you have, the here and now - that is what you deserve to have from your professional photographer.
